Potters are plentiful here. There is a long history of cottage potteries and south Alabama is home to the late Jerry Brown whose face jugs are known far and wide. We lost Mr. Brown last year but the fifth generation potter has heirs that take their skill seriously.
This bowl was produced by a potter who is learning the art. It is the perfect size for a good bowl of cereal in the morning or soup in the evening. Actually I think it would look pretty filled with water and blooms.
The glaze is a nice sage green on the outside and a deep wood brown on the inside. It is 6 inches in diameter and approximately 3 inches deep.
