Technique and process combine to produce a beautiful piece of faith inspired iron art. Texture and color are results of hammer strokes and the hot iron accepting a transfer of another metal to its surface. Iron is picky. It doesn't absorb and very little "sticks" to its surface. This metal transfer lays a layer of brass or copper on to the surface of the hot iron. This finish is then coated with layer of bees wax and buffed to seal the surface and slow the tarnish process. Occasional polishing with a bees wax based furniture polish will maintain the finish.
The small metal sculpture is approximately 4 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. The center features and open diamond. The piece will hang or lay on a table as an accent piece. They are also a nice pocket sculpture that can inspire life in unique and personal ways.
