Sand Mountain Alabama is the largest populated plateau in the U. S. We are at little over 1800 feet which translates into the wind is always blowing. This lovely piece of wall art entitled "Blowing in the Wind" is Walter's interpretation of weather here on the top.
Scroll work adds graceful lines to the rigid edges of the iron and are a good representation of the winds that come up and over the brow. It seems the leaves here are always hanging on for dear life. The finish is a translucent moss green that allows the marks of the process to show through and give a little color beyond the traditional black of forged iron.
This piece offers some creativity to the decorator as it can be hung in any direction that the wind might be blowing. The wall sculpture is 30 inches in length and 15 inches at it widest point. It is forged from 3/4 inch bar stock and will stand about an inch off of your wall.
"Blowing in the Wind" is one of Walter's 2016 nature series sculptures.
