At some point you have to have an ash shovel. That fine powder will build up under your grate until the fire can no longer breathe. Walter makes his own shovel pans from thick durable stock. He hand rivets the corners and connections to the hand forged handle. This handle has a traditional twist in the barrel and a comfort grip handle that features a soft brown suede braid. These tools are meant to be the last ones you ever have to buy. With a little maintenance they should serve their function for generations.
- Care for your ironwork by polishing as needed with a bees wax based furniture polish. Monthly during light use. Wipe your tools down whenever they are exposed to higher than normal humidity.
- This 30 inch shovel is a good size for most indoor hearths and smaller fire pits.
