Good Equipment Makes Camping More Enjoyable

🌾Walter's Tripod Sets are forged to be a foundation set for your outdoor cooking preferences. Like any kitchen your outdoor space will cater to your specific needs. Versatility and strength are a good place to start. Grates, hangers and gadgets are best added as needed. Many custom hardware pieces started with "I wish I had a..."

🌾The Tripod has a main leg with a forged loop that hangs over the center of the fire pit for holding dutch ovens and grates. The two support legs thread on to the main leg at the top hook and are approximately 59" to 61" long. They will stand or spread to the height that best suits your fire pit.

🌾An adjustable chain and hook system allows your ovens to hang at varying heights over your fire.

🌾The  Scroll Handle Pigtail Fork also doubles as a lid lifter.

🌾If your outdoor cooking needs would be better suited by an H frame set up, you simply drive the two  support legs into the ground and run the main support leg through the loops at the top of each support leg. We highly recommend that you stake your legs off when set up in an H frame. Cast iron cookware is quite heavy and staking will ensure a stable cooking frame in soft dirt.

🌾Your set also includes a wall storage hanger for your tripod when its not in use.

🌾Care for your Custom Forged Campfire Equipment

🌾We recommend dry storage for your Iron Tripod and other iron dutch oven cooking equipment. Iron that is subjected to open flame and used outdoors will need some light care. Polish your tripod occasionally with a beeswax based polish. Beeswax is a wonderful natural protectant for ironwork. Spray bees wax can be purchased at Lehmans Brothers Hardware on line. It's reasonably priced and lasts a long time.

🌾Should heavy rusting occur due to moisture exposure, clean your tripod with boiled linseed oil. It will remove the rust and condition your iron. Rub excess with an old dry cloth and apply a fresh coat of bees wax polish. *Note: use an old rag that can be thrown away to apply Linseed Oil. Its a little stinky!
