took place at
Walters shop
. Blacksmiths from the area; representing many different
skills and techniques met at Walter's shop in Henagar to work, sell and
demonstrate all their various products and talents. We a
ppreciate
everyone w
ho came by to experience a glimpse of the past and
discover its relevance today.
July 4th in Mentone
The Forge Gallery will be open for the annual Art Show at the
Gardens. Marc will once again bring together an amazing group of
talented artist who will bring the town to life with their works. Come
and Join us. We are located on the back porch of Crow's Nest Antiques.

Workshops and Classes
Fire and Hammer 101- This 3 day workshop is structured for the novice. Everything from
fire building to basic techniques used in most all forge work will be covered. Students will
go home with a forged fire tool set of their making as well as a better understanding of
the craft. Class starts on Fri. around noon and on Sat. at 9:00. Sunday's class will start at
10:00. Days are open ended to accommodate students. The cost of $500.00 includes 2
nights at The Mentone Inn and includes a full breakfast each morning. Lunch is included
and will be served at the shop. Materials are included, but students will need a basic tool
supply which can be purchased from us or brought along.
Students who do not need over
night accommodations can attend class for $320.00.

Advanced Class
This workshop will concentrate on detailing and artistic techniques like leaf making. If
you can forge in June you are a blacksmith at heart! It will be Hot! Cost and
accommodations will be the same as the
beginning class.
New Salem 2008
The sounds and smell of the forge attract young and old to sit and watch a while as the iron and the fire bring back old
memories and create new ones.
